There is an amazing Vietnamese Restaurant in town run by Tinh and Zung Nguyen, that has its own market gardens. Hard to believe you can get fresh vegies growing in the desert.

It's hard work, especially when the temperature reaches 40 degrees. The Nguyens have improved the soil to make it rich and productive. They use the produce for the restaurant, and also sell crops at the local market on Sunday at Todd Mall.

Theirs was the first - and so far only - Vietnamese restaurant to open here and is located about 15 k's out of town. Zung is the chef at the restaurant and he learned his trade at cooking school in Vietnam.
